David was devoted, committed, humble, willing to serve (even unto death), and had a heart after the things of God. These were the qualities that set David apart from the others. He was the epitome of a true servant.

David's love and faithfulness were qualities that displayed his servant's heart and this allowed him to be armor bearer for the king.

Devotion.  Obedience.  faithfulness.  Respect.  Courage.  A victorious, non-quitting attitude.

Initially, King David was a simple lad who experienced at an early age a very intimate relationship with God.  He desired above all to be in the presence of the Lord.  David had the wisdom to know that this place with God was a place of loving his Lord, being refreshed, being taught by God almighty the secret things necessary to later equip him to walk in the office of  a King, and he learned early in that in the presence of God that sin and his weaknesses could not operate.
Additionally, David was courageous,a valiant warrior, a respector of God's appointed authority, and sowed faithfully into the live of his King through armorbearing.

1) It was for his devotion to God no matter What it was!

2) It was for the Victory we have in Jesus Christ!

3) It's for the respect and reverence we have for what we do in God's Kingdom!

4) It is the cost we give and what we have to do for God's Work in the Kingdom.
