5. Have you spiraled into the negative thinking, "No one appreciates me. No one even said thank you…", lately? If so, how did you change your thinking?

I believe we all have at one time or another. How did I change my thinking? I realized that my work is not unto man but unto God and He is my greates rewarder.

Well everyone gets let down , thats the world we live in . I suppose a self protection mecanism is to try not to expect applause and gratitude . I know that that which is done in secret is rewarded by our Good father in Heaven so I do things unto him .

Interestingly enough I would give and give and give and all I wanted was someone to say thank you. I turned this thinking around by saying to myself give from your heart not expecting anything in return not even a thank you. If it is from your heart Sheila you won't expect anything. I am a giver by nature but what I struggle with is that because I am this way, people assume that you are suppose to do because you did it before. This gets under my skin and I honestly haven't found out a way to not let it get under my skin.

Not really. I guess this is a test that GOD would send. Hopefully, when it happens as I am sure it does for everyone my response will be to put my eyes back on GOD and realize I am serving HIM and not man so the love of JESUS will still pour forth in my service. If I dont have the right attitude the LORD requires of me I would rather just sit down. It does no one any good if you are serving with the wrong spirit. You do have to give with the thought of nothing in return- everything you do should be based upon that. It is also about living the crucified life dead to the flesh.

For awhile I did. What I do is as if unto the Lord, therefore only what I do for Christ will last aand is really all that matters.

Recently I have felt "unappreciated" at church, home, and work. God spoke to me and told me to not focus on what I am doing, but who I am doing it for. In other words, what is my motive for doing any of the things that I do. Is my motive to get a pat on the back from man or to glorify the kingdom of God. If it is truly to glorify the kingdom, then God reminded me that my reward will be greater in heaven. This is my motivation.

No I have not fallen into that trap......sometimes my Bishop don't have time to thank me....he's getting a word from God....and that's the way it is....it comes with the job......if someone is looking to man to thank him....he is serving the wrong one

Yes it hit me hard a few weeks ago. But I turn it over to My Father in Heaven and he helps everyday with this.

I would humble myself unto God, because by then I would have been on the road to "Pompusville", and remind myself that no matter what "title" I have I am a servant.

Yes I have. I believe everyone has felt that way, we are all humans and do not look at everything spiritually like our Father. When I feel this way, I pray and ask God to help me deal with this and seek understanding as every situation is different. I also speak to my Pastor as we have a understanding that nothing is to get between us, even it means us saying things that hurt, for us both to learn, heal, and move on to greater things that God has called us to do in ministry. There are seasons for everything, some last only a little time, some a little longer, and others last a long time.

I've never felt this way at church. I'm there to help anyone that I can, but first and foremost my Pastor. At home is another story. The Lord taught me to do all unto Him and this changed my thinking.

I did feel that way not long ago, unappreciated; taken advantage of but I soon came to the realization that it was a trick of the enemy. I'm not serving to be thanked or appreciated. I'm serving to please God. As soon as I realized it I fell on my knees and asked the Lord to forgive me for my wrong thinking and to strengthen me for service.
