When you go to God in prayer with a spirit of expectation, then the spirit helps you  praye in areas that makes you more affected which will help you with your service and make you sensitve to the needs of others!

I believe prayer is the key. 1 Thess. 5:17 says to pray without ceasing. Prayer alerts you to the need of the ministry, the need of leaders, members, family, etc. Prayer keeps you intune with God and the Holy Ghost will tell you what to pray for. Also, you will know what God wants. Prayer will also keep the one in prayer in check.

Prayer helps me to prepare for an anointed service by getting me out of the way so that the Holy Spirit can move freely and allows me to receive all that He has to pour out.

Prayer helps me to be open to God and it allows me to stay focused on the assignment at hand as well as hear God more clearly.

Prayer allows me to hear from the inside and shuts out all the worldly junk that hinders me from doing what God has called me to do.

5. The author made the statement, "Prayer prepares you for anointed service." If you agree, how has prayer prepared you for anointed service?

Prayer places us in position of decreasing and getting out of God's way that He may increase in our lives. It opens our hearts to Worshiping Him in spirit and in truth, becoming sensitive to His Spirit and His voice that we may follow His direction. Power and anointing is released through prayer.
Prayer and fasting is Worship to God. Without prayer you cannot hear God. Without prayer you continue to carry the cares and weight of the world on your shoulders instead of being freed and walking and living in the Liberty of God. That freedom of bondage is one of the benefits of the Cross.

I feel that prayer prepares you for the annointing. You must pray and ask God to let you received the annointing that He wants to give you.
