5. The author made the statement, "Prayer prepares you for anointed service." If you agree, how has prayer prepared you for anointed service?

Prayer allows me to decrease and the Holy Spirit of God to increase so that I might be used as He see fit.

Prayer does prepare you for anoited service because it sets the tone for the start of the day. Prayer allows you to be open to the Holy Spirits leading and guiding. When the congregation is on one accord in prayer Oh my God the annointing just flows in the service and it is AWESOME.

Prayer opens the lines of communication between the Holy Spirit that lives in me and God the Father who is my instructor, to hear from Heaven regarding the leadership that I have been assigned.  Prayer is that direct connect to keep me focused on the task at hand.

Prayer puts you in a posture of humility and brokenness before GOD. As you are in that position you are then emptied of self and filled with the SPIRT to a greater degree. When the SPIRIT is upon you then you operate in a greater anointing. I read a quote that said what makes humility so desirable is the marvelous thing it does to us, it creates in us a  capacity for the closest possible intimacy with GOD. The work HE does in our life in and as a result of being in the prayer closet prepares us for anointed service.

Without communicating with God, I don't know where I would be.  Prayer allows my spirit to connect with the Holy Spirit and equips me to do the will of GOd.

Prayer has prepared me for anointed service by; giving me a heart of love and compassion for my pastor, it has enable me to be open to hear God's voice when he has given me words of encouragement for her that have sounded "wacky" to me but have clearly touched her heart, it allows me to be used by him in an amazing way.

Prayer allows me to remain submissive and humble while still performing my duties. It keeps me connected to what is going on spiritually in the atmosphere.

I agree that prayer has and still is preparing me for anointed service.  Without communicating with God on a constant basis the anointing would not be active in my life.

Communicating with God keeps one focused and assured that this is right in the eyes of the Lord.

Prayer prepares me for service by getting me in a place where I can recieve from the Holy Spirit while still being vigilante and watching my Man of God and the congregation.  As a Armorbearer we are not allowed to get into the spirit when everyone else does. Therefore prayer prepares me behind the scenes.
