2 Timothy 2:21 says therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter he will be a vesssel for honor, sanctified and useful for the MASTER prepared for every good work.

This scripture relates to my life because I was once a sinner who committed dead works. But now that I am cleanse or accepted Christ in my heart, I am alive unto good works. I am now a vessel for honor. I am cleanse from all unrighteousness. I am now useful for the Master to use me.

When there is an important person such as a president of a country about to appear somewhere, should they be under attack, they enemy would take out his security first. We are, as A/B security for the Man or Woman of God. our job is indeed to pray for them, and hold them up. If WE are taken out, the enemy stands a better chance of getting to our heads. As such, I have encountered MANY SEVERE attacks. We all have weaknesses and the enemy knows this also, thus he tries to make us fall, according to our weaknesses, thus gaining access to the set man or woman.

"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work."  2 Timothy 2:21

When I was 21 I rededicated my life to Christ and became active in the church.  Unfortunately, immediately after some things occurred that left me scarred from "church hurt."  Rather than leave the church, I continued to serve, but everything I did was laced with disrespect, anger and unforgiveness.  In my heart, I wanted to be a help, but I could not get passed the things that had and were continuing to happen.  It wasn't until God delivered me thorough the process of TRUE  forgiveness (cleansing from the latter) that I could truly function in ministry and in daily relational situations.  Because of the different things I refused and struggled to let go of I was not of much use.  I wasn't prepared by choice and a lack of attentiveness if that makes sense.  The things I knew innately that were needed I refused to do just because I didn't want to.  I had lost COMPLETE sight of Colossians 3:23.  To be honest, I hadn't lost sight of it I just closed my eyes and reused to look in that direction.  I am so thankful for the healing and liberation of repentance and forgiveness because now I am in a place where 2 Timothy 2:21 is being reflected in my life!

New Living Translation (©2007)
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

If I remind clean before the Lord, having a pure heart and clean hands and that I don't allow sin, guilt, condemnation, fear or lust, to come in and have me distracted that I will be prepared for the Father's use.

So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work. (Amp)

This is invaluable and something that has become a part of my Christian lifestyle. I never leave home without it,  being fit and ready to answer the Master's call.

Write 2 Timothy 2:21 below. How does it relate to your life of service?

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Everyday it is my job to purge myself before trying to do any kind of service. My heart, soul and spirit must be cleansed before God other wise that which is in me contaminates those i come in contact with or even pray for. It is my responsibility to go before God and purge myself with His Word. One day without prayer and consecration is a day without purging. No one can serve with those eight virtues if they are contaminated.

THEREFORE IF ANYONE CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM THE LATTER, HE WILL BE A VESSEL OF HONOR, SANCTIFIED AND USEFUL FOR THE MASTER, PREPARED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.

IF I KEEP MYSELF CLEAN FROM THINGS THAT ARE NOT PURE AND OF HIM, HE WILL CONTINUE TO USE ME FOR KINGDOM BUILDING. ALL FOR HIS GLORY. HE WILL BE GLORIFIED THROUGH MY LIFE.
