Weekly Blog: Calling On the One Who Changes Not

abc-calling.jpgHave you noticed during these turbulent times a lot of things we thought would never change are changing? I drove by one of our favorite restaurants not long ago and noticed a sign "CLOSED After 50 Years." We had to start limiting our visits because of health reasons anyway but they still had a special place in our hearts and minds. You'll know why when I tell you what they were dishing out. They served some of the best fried chicken, I think, in the world. But things changed and they're gone.

Perhaps, you are in the midst of a change that you never thought would happen. If so, this little blog is for you today. I encourage you to call to the one who changes not. Our Father God does not change. In fact, he is the same yesterday, today and forever. He promised he would never leave us or forsake us.  And you know what; I believe Him.  On that note, I've gathered some Scriptures that I have found comforting and faith building in the middle of CHANGES in my life and all around me.

Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle--My Lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My Shield and the One in whom I take refuge. --Psalm 144:1,2a

"For I am the Lord, I do not change; --Malachi 3:6a

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

"God is not a man, that He should lie. Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said and will He not do? Or has He spoken and will He not make it good? --Numbers 23:19

With all that said, if God has given you a promise and the circumstances are saying different or even the opposite. Find you a quiet place and begin to think on the things that He has already done. Stir up a grateful spirit (attitude.) Then begin to fill your heart and mind with Scripture that God always does what He says. It may not be exactly like you thought. It may not even be when you thought...But God never fails. He always comes through for us. This may seem like a simple little exercise. And it is; but remember our weapons of warfare are not carnal but mighty in pulling down the strongholds of the enemy. (2 Cor. 10:4)

Come on; let's continue to call on the One who changes not.
