The Grace of God For The Suffering

The Grace of God for the Suffering

Is there pain and suffering in your life? Some people believe that God wants us to suffer. And that alone makes us closer to him. Our God is not the author of pain and suffering but He does sovereignly allow it to bring glory to His name.

For example, some men came to Jesus and told him, “Master your friend Lazarus is very sick. He’s at the very edge of death; you should come quickly and see about him. The word of God said that Jesus allowed several days to pass before he went to see his friend. When he got there, he had been dead several days. Mary and Martha said to him, “Master if you had come sooner he would have not died. Jesus said to them, “Your brother shall live again. Mary said, “Yes my brother will live again in the Resurrection.” Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection.” Jesus said, “Where have you laid him?” You know the rest of the story; Jesus raised him back to life. So the question is, “Why was Lazarus sick; other than this earth being under a curse because of the sin of Adam and Eve. The answer is, so that God would get the glory.

This healing and Resurrection power stands as a testament to the glory of God.  The healing that was made available to Lazarus and God’s children the body of Christ. God gave authority to Man/ Humanity. Adam and Eve when they sinned and disobeyed, they gave all their authority to the enemy Satan which put this earth under a curse and brought sickness and death.

You see we were created to live forever but the sin of Adam messed up everything. So God sent Jesus Christ, his only son, to fix it for us. As you already know, He fixed it through His shed blood at the cross of Calvary. You see the penalty of sin is death, Hell and the Grave, so it took a sacrifice to appease a Holy God. The sacrifice at the Cross was God’s retribution.

I know you may say, man that sounds mean. I know it does but our God is a Holy God and no sin can stand in His Holy presence. It was our fault; Humanity, we sinned at the garden the tree of life. There had to be a propitiation; something to take our place or to stand in the gap for us and Christ was that for us.  That’s why he had to die a sinner’s death so that we could live and be healed. Can you see it?

Christ has said, “I have come that you may have life and that more abundantly.” This is His perfect will for our life. Even though we still have death, sickness, pain, the curse of divorce, premature death, miscarriages, deceit and all types of suffering. Christ has come died, buried and resurrected so that we all might be redeemed from the law of sin and death and the penalty of it.

So, if there is any suffering in your life know this, “There is a balm in Gilead,” and that balm is Jesus. If you call on His name in faith, just like the woman with the issue of blood did, you will receive the reward of your faith. Say to yourself, “All I have to do is touch the hem of his garment; I will be made whole.” Matthew 9:20-21. She did and she was made whole and so will you. Know this there is suffering that is common to man, meaning we all suffer at one time or another. But this beautiful promise we have in Christ has redeemed us from the law of sin and death. Trust Him; use your faith and believe in His word. His words are true; believe and you will be healed.
