Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward his name in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
DID YOU KNOW GOD REMEMBERS AND FAVORS HIS SERVANTS? God's word is full of what I call qualifiers. Meaning when God says, "if you do this, I'll do this. He expects an action of faith in return. Now, it's true God loves the whole world and He gave his Son who died, was buried and rose again for us all. He rains blessings on the righteous and the unrighteous.
But there are certain blessings, rewards, favor and honor that come only to his obedient servants. There are certain blessings that the unsaved and the disobedient, the inactive Christian or slacking church may never experience.
Why? Because when you serve, your faith is activated in ways that it may never become activated in any other way. You become a member of the MORE society. Activating your faith positions you to receive more, give more and do more.
Think about this? What if it were really true when you serve God in His local church, it becomes the hinge that would swing wide God's door of blessings?
When you serve, You use the key for God's treasure. For years I've heard God's ministers call Jeremiah 33:3 His phone number. You know the Bible says in Jeremiah 33:3, "When you call, I'll hear and answer and show you great and mighty things you knowest not." All you have to do is call him up. If you've never heard this before, you must give this a try. Go ahead use God's phone number and see what he shows. I've called up several times with this phone number. He showed me some pretty awesome things to come.
Recently, during some Bible study time the Holy Spirit showed me God's bank account number. And guess what, we each have an individual account. Anybody want to know what God's bank account number is? God's bank account number is Isaiah 33:6 He will be a sure foundation for my times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure. Now read it this way: He will be a sure foundation for every circumstance we face, a bank of salvation wisdom and knowledge; serving the Lord is the bank account number to this treasure. - Isa. 33:6 para.
1. When you serve things are added to you; you become a seeker of God. You know the Scripture, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be added to you." Did you notice the qualifier was seeking God first?
2. When you serve you are positioned to receive the rewards of the faithful. All the faithful in the house can get excited, because you're positioned for reward, multiplication and promotion. The Bible says God is faithful to the faithful.
3. When we serve, we're following the example of Jesus. Then we become an example to others. You know the ones that are following us as we follow Jesus. Matthew 10:40-42 He who receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me…He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward…And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward. So when was the last time you gave your leader or your fellow servant a glass of water? Are you ready to receive a reward? I know I am. I've served a lot of glasses of water. Won't you join me in expecting God to do what He says He will do?
4. When we serve God promises to heal, protect and strengthen us. Psalm 41:1-3 Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive…You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed. I've stood on this Scripture plenty times for myself and my family. I've even used it as I pray for the faithful but Saints in need that I pray for our church's altar. God hears his Word being spoken in faith and believed; He responds to our faith. Have you faced any trouble lately in these trying economic times? Remember Psalm 41:1-3, fellow servant of God. He is ready to hear and answer your prayer too.
5. When we serve we become the obedient. When we obey we're positioned for the blessings of obedience listed out in Deuteronomy 28. I put you on assignment to meditate on the promises of blessings if you serve and walk in obedience. You are obedient to serve God in your local church and that makes you eligible for the blessings. Don't let them pass you by because you don't know or because you don't think you qualify. Through father Abraham (Old Testament) you qualify!
6. When we serve we become a follower of Jesus, those the Father will honor. John 12:26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me and where I am there My servant will also. If anyone serves Me, My Father will honor. Also, read Luke 6:31. If not already, your honor is on the way. Father God loves to honor His faithful servants. Keep going; keep walking, your time, your due season will surely come.
7. When we serve we begin to know how to prosper. We begin to walk out our destiny, God's chosen path. We are friends of God. He shares secrets with His friends. Did you know the Word of God contains secret revelations that only available to the faithful of God? In Psalm 25:12 Who is the man that fears (reverence, serve) the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity. ..The question is the qualifier. If you can answer yes then you qualify to receive and walk in your true destiny.
Back when we were just starting out volunteering in our local church ministries, we were in a meeting and our elders at the time prophesied, "It's a good thing that you've been using good planks and worthy wood, straight nails and building the best house you know how. Because you didn't know it but the house you've been building all these years is YOUR house. Of course we shouted and praised God for that.
But now I turn and prophesy the same thing to you, Saint of God. It's a good thing you've been using good materials and building the best house of service that you know how! Because you may not have known it but the spiritual house you've been building is YOUR house. It's your house of ministry. It's your home for your family. Now continue to do the work of the ministry through serving. Your due season is on the way!
