FAQ: Leaders Don't Speak About Armorbearing At All?
- 7-20-2009
- Categorized in: Blogs
Question....I feel strongly led to serve my Pastors in any area that is needed. The problem is this...They do not teach or talk about armorbearing at all. Actually, I see the associate female Pastor (the pastors wife) doing many more things than she should. She is worn out. She carries many things and responsibilities. Should I ask them if I can begin serving them? Even though I have at times expressed my willingness to do things for them, they never take me up on it and they just do the things for themselves or ask someone else to do it. Should I mention it again or explain I feel led by God to serve them...especially the Pastors wife?
Thank you. Karen, Texas
Earma: Hi Sister Karen. Thank you for your recent question. We commend you for hearing the spirit of the Lord and desiring to serve your leaders.
Varn: Hello Karen. It is awesome that you are willing to serve your pastor, it is important that they allow you to serve; persistence is good.
Earma: You must give them the choice to accept or not accept. Father God knows how to speak to his servants. They may need to hear about armorbearing from one of their peer leaders (someone on their level.) Or consider Father God is working on revealing to them he's sent a willing servant to help them regularly in this way.
Varn: In love, make sure that your motives are correct. Some times people have the wrong motives. You don't need the title to serve. If they are not teaching on armorbearing and you've mentioned it, that's o.k. Just serve and allow them in the future to say it without any pressure. Remember love never faileth.
Earma: I agree Karen. Be patient. Help where they allow you to. Also, consider gifting the one you feel is most receptive to this ministry with our book, In the Spirit of Armorbearing.
Or consider asking if you can teach on this subject and see what happens from there. It may be the exact avenue God wants to use to open their mind and heart to having you serve them in this way. The next thing we hear may be you writing us telling about the armorbearer's team your leaders want to start through you.
May God bless you, your family and ministry.
