Has God called you to go to the next level in service? Are you feeling a bit restless and dissatisfied with being an assistant to the leader? A few years ago, a young woman wrote to us saying, "I think I may be out growing armorbearing. What do you think?"
We advised her to seek the Lord. And if she discovered Father God was indeed calling her to something else, then it was time to stand steady and train a successor. Rarely, if ever, is it time to run off pursuing something else if there's no one to take your place.
Of course, I realize this does not apply to everyone. For some, it may be a life time assignment of helping their leaders. For them, I can say it's a great honor to do what God has asked you to do. After discovering, it is God calling you to your next level get ready for the process. Our Pastor Mike tells a story that explains well the process of going to the next level.
He was visiting an uncle on his farm. He got up early the first morning excited to look around and see what he could see. He went out to the barn and noticed a baby chicken struggling to break out of its shell.
He curiously watched it peck, struggle and strain to become free of its shell. It seemed so hard on the baby chick that he decided to help it along. He reached over and pulled away the rest of the pieces of shell; making it completely free. He thought it was going to hop up and start walking around like the other little chicks that had broken themselves free. Instead, it lay there dying not having enough strength to raise itself up.
Puzzled, he told his uncle what he had done and asked why the chick died after he freed it. The relative explained that the birth process of the chick was a part of what strengthened the chick to be able to hop around and get food after the process. If anything interfered with that process; the chick would likely die.
Do you see it? I see us in that little chick. Pecking, struggling and straining through God's process to the next level. You know sometimes the next level is nothing more than a new or refreshed character that He wants us to operate in. Is God calling you to operate in a greater level of love or patience?
Or perhaps God has called you to the next level of armorbearing, helps and leadership.
Meditation Moment: Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. -Phil. 3:13

Reading this article takes me back to when my wife and i were armorbearers. We served our pastor and firstlady open minded and open hearted. now that we have moved on inton another ministry, we are having a hard time finding our nitch. we went from a church pretty much starting from the ground up and into a church that is fully operational. How do we get into the groove of serving after being at that level? right now we are going through a process that affects the entire family. just this weekend the Lord told me to stop communicating with my family during the day and just call to say goodnight for 6 days. i know that its allpart of the process of where He is trying to take us. there's a new season coming and we will be apart of it. its just trying to figure out exactly what part will we be in. i do know that my family is being called as one, but i know with in that calling there is a high place for me. what do you do?
