FAQ: Have I Outgrown Armorbearing?

Question: I've been an armorbearer for 10 years or more, and I think I may be outgrowing it, I enjoy serving, but I vacillate between armorbearing and helping in another area. What can I do to be sure that I have been called to do this in the 1st place? Additionally, the leader I serve is private and not very affectionate, and I don't feel comfortable expressing myself, because I don't feel I can. What should I do?

IB,
L.A., USA

Brown’s Response:

Varn: Hi IB. Congratulations on your faithfulness. Please know that God's sheep are led by His Spirit and remember King David was an Armorbearer first then became King.

The Lord may want to promote you to a higher level of ministry. If you haven't already, I recommend you read my article 'Will You Go to the Next Level' on http://www.armorbearers.net

Earma: Hi IB, yes that would be a great article for you to read. It talks about our willingness and in some cases unwillingness to move into what God has for us next. You may be feeling restless because Father God wants to elevate you to your next level. You didn't mention whether you serve with others. I can't confirm that you have outgrown your position until your successor has been formed. Perhaps it is time for you to train others. Or at least someone that can begin to do what you do for your leaders.

Varn: About your leader having a private personality, serve her on the capacity that she allows you to. During this season, it's more about her as a leader than you as an Armor bearer.

Earma: I agree. But I encourage you to be patient. Pray more for her as a leader. If not already, pray over your relationship. Ask for unity and harmony as a team.

Be encouraged. Don't stop; stay focused – keep your excellent spirit. We know God's sees your faithfulness. He is not unrighteous that he would forget your labor of love you have shown (and still do) toward his name and his saints. Heb 6:10

Our Prayer: We pray that God will bless you with clarity and wisdom. We pray that he strengthen you and continue to direct your path. May his blessing and reward run after you and overtake you.
